Conference OCEANEXT

The final conference of the COSELMAR research project will be held at the Cité des Congrès in Nantes on 8th, 9th and 10th June 2016.
The OCEANEXT conference will bring together key scientists and stakeholders from multi-disciplinary areas of research around the sustainable use of ecosystem services and governance of marine and coastal spaces.
The conference themes build around the environmental and societal risks and opportunities for all our coastal and marine activities. Risks and benefits for biodiversity and human health are central topics as are the financial risks for marine and coastal sectors (fisheries and aquaculture, tourism, marine renewable energy, blue growth, pharma- and chemical industries).
Engineering aspects around prevention of submersion and off-shore platforms will be discussed, also in the frame of foresight planning and development of expert systems in support of participative governance for marine spatial planning and integrated coastal zone management.
This conference is hosted by the University of Nantes and coordinated by the directors of the French regional project COSELMAR : Sophie Pardo & Philipp Hess
