Conference: Marine Renewable Energies within the IUML: technological and non-technological locks

Marine Renewable Energies within the IUML: technological and non-technological locks was the title of the conference organised by the federation of the IUML on the 6th of June 2014. The conference took place on the occasion of the Scientific Days 2014 of the Université de Nantes. The aim was to bring together the different members of the IUML on the subject matter and to discuss on the most striking lines of research.

According to the organiser, the objectives of this conference were met: update and exchange knowledge, initiate new research areas and particular emphasis on the interdisciplinary aspect of the subject matter. Among the topics discussed were economic studies and costing problems with energy storage, bio-fouling and reliability of the materials used.

One of the aims was also to identify the course subjets (among 15 master's degree) that could constitute a new research training programme, with the goals of the IUML being Research, Innovation and Training.

The participants and speakers were pleased about the day's outcome.
